There are three breaks in Magheroarty, beach, point and reef. The most consistent is the reef, which holds about 6 to 8ft swells and is best on the push. Paddle out from the right. Ideal in low to mid tide, S winds and NW swell. No crowds.
A big wave curvy beach with several breaks, taking nearly every swell and wind direction. One break is just off the jetty (watch out for the rocky bottom), another is half way down the beach. The shallow salt water lake behind the dunes is good for learning.
A clean long curvy beach. At the south end N is onshore and at the north end W is onshore.
