Dogs Bay and Gurteen Bay, lying back to back, are a few miles from Roundstone. Wind blows into Dogs bay creating nice waves and close chop, and then over the low peninsular into Gorteen bay giving strong winds and dead flat water for great slalom.
Salthill by Galway city has a nice beach that is choppy but sailable in most conditions. Slalom sailing mainly with occasional waves. Watch out for the shore dump at high tide.
Oranmore in Galway Bay is nice for slalom sailing. You can launch from the Yacht club and sail out into the bay. The Yacht club is located in Renville, Oranmore, approximately 11km from Galway city.
