Surfing near Dublin (or on the east coast in general) is rarely worth the effort. Some potential wind swell but it is rare to see good conditions here.
A popular weekend location for Dubliners during the summer, Brittas Bay has a long sandy beach and good water quality. There can be some nice waves here but beware of the strong rip current.
The reservoir lake is about 20km from Dublin. Surrounded by hills with a nice backdrop. If everywhere else is calm, there can still be nice wind accelerating down the hills onto the lake here. This is a good spot during the summer but the water tends to be cold...
