Rossnowlagh is about 3 km long sandy beach and is safe and ideal for beginners and improvers. Fairly consistent with softly breaking lefts and rights. Offshore winds are from E and best swell direction is W. Conditions are good at all stages of the tide, although best at an hour or two off high tide.
Rossnowlagh is only a 20 minute drive from Bundoran but is better sheltered from big swell. If Tullan Strand is messy, Rosnowlagh is a definite alternative and might often work out better. Rossnowlagh is also famous for its surfing history, which is nicely portrayed in the pub by the beach.
Have had some great surf here during the winter months when Tullan Strand is a bit rough. Waves can be quite big and powerful and the on beach parking is also nice

Holds up pretty well when getting bigger. Typical beach break, but pretty nice when your out back and its off shore. If you make the drop there's rides to be had.
