Windsurf from a bay just outside the town or launch from the jetty's in the centre of town. Beware of a strong current in the direction of the tide and numerous large boats as this is the entrance to Cork harbour. There is an annual race around the Island. Spike Island is a prison, so do not land there. The bay is quieter compared to the town front.
