Lough Neagh lake in Northern Ireland is a nice conserved recreational park devoted to sports. Accessing from Lurgan, you will find a beautiful spot with alot of good sailors. When the wind is blowing down the lake, small waves can be created off the point. The long lake can give a good size fetch.
Further up north in Ballyronan, there is a sandy beach on the NW shore. The lough can get surprisingly rough, with 7ft swells. Best directions are SE to SSW, athough, you can get away with N to SW if consistant.
In the north end of the lake, by Toome bridge, is another spot for windsurfing. At the River Bann, you have to drive across a field beside the Chapel and a housing estate for 2 minutes, to get to the launch site. The lough is relativity shallow with rocks underfoot. The best wind direction is NW-N.
Cranfield on the north side of the lough, closer to Antrim is yet another spot. It is desolate and exposed and works in SW to W winds. There have been some accidents here and it's worth to note that the shallows are stoney and drop away very quickly. It is also a long way to drift if you get into trouble. In gale force winds, stay away as the swell gets big.
Antrim offers two sites either side of the river, the boat club and the public car park. Best wind direction is SW to NW. There can be steep swell here. Popular with windsurfers from Belfast.
